Last updated on: 07 October 2021

What is a change of use?

  • A change of use refers to any modification made to the approved land use for a particular site, specific tenancy or unit (e.g. a warehouse/showroom changing to a shop).
  • A development approval is not required if the proposed use is permitted within the zone and the proposal will not generate the need to complete any 'works' on the site.
  • 'Works' incorporates any building activity such as the creation of additional floor space, amendment to parking bays etc.
